Male Baldness Cure For Bald Eagles

With the variety of conditions relating to male hair loss and baldness in general, a classification system was required. In the 1950s, Dr James Hamilton took steps to creating the measurement system, The Hamilton Scale; further revisions by Dr Oater Norwood resulted in the collective rename of the scale to The Hamilton-Norwood Scale in the 1970s. This article looks at the different stages of baldness indicated on the system.

Hair Loss Remedy and Treatment

The most obvious and noticeable part of the human hair is the hair on the head, which contributes a lot to a persons good looks and beauty, and so the lack of it, or loss of it is always a source of distress to the person. Hair is an outgrowth that emerges from the follicles of the head and there are as much as 1 lakh follicles on the head. It is from these follicles that hair roots emerge .A single hair grows from one such hair root, and grows longer to a shaft, which is visible. The black color of the hair is due to a pigment called melanin, which is stored in a bulb found in the lower part of the hair follicle. One strand of normal hair looks so thin, yet it is very strong since it is made up of a protein called keratin. The hair that grows once is not permanent. It is shed periodically. There is a growth cycle and so it is normal for everybody to lose up to 50-100 hairs per day, which then are replaced by new ones. Actually at a time, about 10 percent of the hair on the scalp is in a resting phase while the other 90% is in growing stage. The hair in the resting stage falls off, once in every 2-3 months, only to be replaced by new ones. This growing phase lasts for 2 to 6 years and during this phase, each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter per month. If a person loses more hair than its growth and this loss is more than 50- 100 strands per day, the person is said to be suffering from hair loss. The disruption in the normal growth cycle of hair will lead to hair loss.

Hair Loss: Hair loss can be caused by a variety of conditions ranging from sudden stress (caused by illness), certain types of medications (like those given in treatment of gout, arthritis, anticoagulants, and also during chemotherapy for cancer treatment), hormonal imbalances (like hyper or hypothyroidism caused by overactive or under active thyroid gland, or in case of imbalance of sexual hormones like androgens in males and estrogens in females2), poor nutrition, (also causes hair loss as the body is not getting enough proteins or vitamins needed for growth), fungal infection of the scalp( like psoriasis) , male pattern baldness3,( which is an inherited trait is the most common cause of hair loss in men.) Men who start losing their hair at an early age tend to develop more extensive baldness. In male-pattern baldness, hair loss typically results in a receding hairline and baldness on the top of the head. Women may also develop female-pattern baldness. In this form of hair loss, the hair becomes thin over the entire scalp. Alopecia areata is the development of bald patches on the scalp, beard, and, possibly, eyebrows. Eyelashes may also fall out. This condition is attributed to an immune disorder. Tinea capitis (ringworm of the scalp) is another reason for hair loss. Finally, hair loss is also due to diseases (like lupus, diabetes).. But sometimes hair loss may occur out of sheer negligence and improper care of hair, even without any of these above mentioned problems. It can occur when lot of pressure is exerted on the scalp (by tying extra tight pigtails), or by excessive chemicals and hot oil –treatment used during perming. Such rough practices damage the hair follicles, which leads to hair loss.

Even though thousands of hair loss products are available on the market, hair loss shampoo is the widely used product. Hair loss is very often heritable. It may also occur due to aging or hormonal imbalance. Since hair loss is heritable, it may be from your father’s side or mother’s side. There is a common view that the hair loss is mainly from mother’s side but it is not true. Different hair loss treatments are available for different hair loss patterns. One among them is hair loss shampoo.

Many people suffering from hair loss are using hair loss shampoo, because it is the easiest way of treating hair loss. But in a lot of cases not the best! There are numerous varieties of hair loss shampoos available in drugstores. One among them is Dr.Proctor’s hair loss shampoo, which consists of natural ingredients, no chemicals are added. Statistics show that this product is the favorite hair loss shampoo. The second most popular hair loss shampoo is called Life Extension Shampoo. Find out more about Thinning Hair

Other commonly used hair loss shampoos are Viviscal, Hair Genesis, Thymuskin, Revivogen, nisim, and Tricomin. A research study confirms that Thymuskin hair loss shampoo is 95% effective in female and 67% in the male pattern baldness. Viviscal shampoo is also very popular. It treats thinning hair, hair loss, and proclaims overall health of the hair. Viviscal is also available as tablets, scalp lotion and conditioner apart from hair loss shampoo. Viviscal is extracted from marine, which provides the essential amino acids to the hair follicle to keep it healthier. Hair Genesis is not only available as hair loss shampoo, but also as an oral supplement, topical serum, and conditioner. This natural hair loss product helps to block the DHT by using the botanical DHT blockers to impede hair loss. It has to be used for at least 3 months before any positive effect is seen as a result of this treatment.

How does a hair loss shampoo work? Hair loss shampoo cleans the hair follicle from debris, dirt, oil, and other wastes. These hair loss shampoos have thymus peptides that will diffuse deep into the hair follicles to remove the adhered dirt.

Hair Renew is one of the hair loss shampoos that are specially made for women. This hair loss shampoo cleanses the scalp, neutralizes the DHT in the scalp and also nourishes the hair follicles. DHT in the hair follicles blocks the available nutrients to the hair follicle which results in hair loss.

Be careful in selecting a hair loss shampoo, because some shampoos may harm your hair and may even provoke more hair loss than preventing it.

Get The Cold Hard Facts About Hair Loss Remedies And Treatments

Statistics show that most men have a 50% chance of experiencing hereditary hair loss by their 50th birthday. The severity and nature of baldness can vary greatly; it ranges from male and female pattern alopecia, alopecia areata, which involves the loss of some of the hair from the head, and alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all head hair, to the most extreme form, alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the body. The term bald derives from the English word balde, which means white or pale, or the Celtic word – ball, which means a white patch or blaze, such as on a horse’s head.

Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop hair loss. If the thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, hair may fall out; treating thyroid disease will help remedy this. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.

About 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you can suddenly temporarily lose a large amount of hair; this hair loss is related to the stress of the illness. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance; correcting the hormone imbalance may stop the hair loss. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it’s important to find the cause so that it can be treated properly and fast.

Many women notice hair loss about three months after they’ve had a baby; during pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out and when the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts up again. Some drugs or medications can cause hair loss, which improves when you stop taking the medicine; medications that can cause hair loss include blood thinners, medicines used for gout, and chemotherapy drugs used for cancer, too much vitamin A supplementation, birth control pills and antidepressants. In the past it was believed that baldness was inherited from a person’s maternal grandfather; while there’s some basis for this belief, both parents contribute to their offspring’s likelihood of hair loss.

Products for hair loss include: shampoos, shampoos and conditioners, conditioners, lotions, creams, concealers, thinning hair shampoos, laser combs, laser brushes, the Lasertron Hair Growth Brush, herbal based products, chemical based pills or tablets, Nizoral shampoo, Neutrogena T-Gel, and many others. Regular aerobic exercise can help keep androgen levels naturally lower while maintaining overall health, lowering stress and increasing SHBG. Surgery is another method of reversing hair loss and baldness, although it may be considered an extreme measure.

There are hundreds of hair loss products used as hair loss remedies and treatments. Topical application of Ketoconazole, which is both an anti-fungal and a potent 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, is often used as a supplement to other approaches. Propecia (Finasteride) and Minoxidil (Rogaine in the U.S and elsewhere as Regaine) are drugs that have reported having shown some success in partially reversing loss but consider the side effects.

Very little testing has been done on the long-term effects of Minoxidil on women. While drastic, broad spectrum anti-androgens such as Flutamide are sometimes used topically; Flutamide is potent enough to have a feminizing effect in men, including growth of the breasts. Propecia is available with a prescription; comes in pill form, is only for men and may take up to six months before you can tell if it is working.

Vodka and cayenne remedy for loss – mix one jigger of vodka with a 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (test on skin first for sensitivity) and rub it on the scalp; blood rushes to the hair follicles stimulated by the vodka and cayenne pepper – be careful if you try it. Circulation to the scalp is important. Saw Palmetto is an herbal DHT inhibitor often claimed to be cheaper and have fewer side effects than finasteride and dutasteride; unlike other 5alpha-reductase inhibitors, saw palmetto induces its effects without interfering with the cellular capacity to secrete PSA (protein specific antigen).

Olive oil and rosemary remedy for hair loss – use equal amounts of olive oil and oil of rosemary; combine them in a bottle, shake vigorously, massage into the scalp, put on a cap and shampoo in the morning. Try lying on a slant board with head down for 15 minutes a day, but clear it with your doctor first. Try using double-strength herbal sage tea as a hair rinse or apply to scalp every day as a tonic.

Beta Sitosterol, which is a constituent in many seed oils, can help to treat BHP (benign prostatic hypertrophy) by lowering cholesterol; but consuming large amounts to get at small quantities of beta sitosterol is likely to exacerbate male pattern baldness. Try scalp massage every day. Garlic oil remedy for hair loss – at bedtime, puncture a couple of garlic pearles, squirt the oil on the scalp, massage, cover with a cap, shampoo and rinse in the morning.

Apple cider vinegar used as a hair rinse may stimulate hair growth. Garlic for hair loss remedy – an hour before bedtime, slice open a clove of garlic and rub it on the hair loss area, wait for an hour then massage the scalp with olive oil, put on a cap, go to bed, shampoo your hair in the morning, repeat for a few weeks, and hopefully hair will stop falling out and regrowth will be showing. Resveratrol, from grape skins, is a lipase inhibitor and by decreasing the body’s ability to absorb fat through the intestine walls, it reduces the total fat and calorie content of a person’s diet.

Keep in mind that hair loss should be continually treated, preferably natural however, even after it stops. Treatment for alopecia can be slow and sometimes not successful; the more hair that’s lost, the more you may have to work at it to get it back and in some cases may not be able to; but try as many natural non-invasive treatments and remedies as possible. If adequate treatment is not available for your type of hair loss, you may want to consider trying different types of hairstyles or wigs, hairpieces, hair weaves or artificial hair replacement.

Discovering the Latest in Hair Loss Research Developments

Suffering from hair loss? If it’s any consolation, this is truly a great age to be born in if you have the genetic predisposition for hair loss. That’s because there are now a lot of research developments that will allow you to prevent and even re-grow your hair. Here’s what you need to know about hair loss research.

Current Research

Current research developments have truly come up with effective solutions for hair loss. Unfortunately, solution scams have also multiplied. It is important to remember that in order for you to find real treatments for hair loss, you have to conduct your own hair loss research. Find out the real causes of hair loss, possible solutions for hair loss and scientific evidences that can support available solutions.

There are numerous studies that have been conducted about possible hair loss solutions. In a nutshell, here is what current hair loss research has to say about treating hair loss:

The Androgenetic Alopecia – There are different kinds of hair loss but the most common is androgenetic alopecia in which genes and hormones cause hair loss. In this condition, hair loss can be medically treated by taking medicine that can stimulate hair growth or one that can block the hormone that causes hair loss. There is one of each kind of medicine. Both are FDA approved but only one of them can be safely used by females.

Hair Loss Surgery – The other medical method borne out of hair loss research that can treat hair loss is surgery. One popular method is hair transplantation in which healthy hairs are taken from the back of the scalp and transplanted to the balding area. This method is expensive. Clients also lament the fact that there are limits to the amount of hair that can be transplanted. In other words, even after transplantation, hair rarely ever looks plentiful or full.

Saw Palmetto – Surprisingly, hair loss research has revealed that the herb saw palmetto has some potential in treating male hair loss. Although more hair loss research is needed, current research findings reveal that the herb that was originally studied for prostate health has some DHT blocking properties.

Future Hair Loss Treatment

The above mentioned solutions summarize the options you can take for hair loss remedy. There is however some hope for future developments in hair loss treatment. Given below are promising hair loss research studies being conducted:

The Genes – Gene therapy hair loss research is very much on everyone’s mind but it is actually a method that is still being developed. Since genes are responsible for androgenetic alopecia, scientists believe that they may be able to remedy hair loss if they found a way to manipulate, modify or correct genes.

Replication of Hair Cells – There is now actually a patented method for replicating hair cells from hair samples and injecting the cells into the balding areas. Scientists are conducting more hair loss research on this technique.

DHT Blocking Drug – There is some evidence that a new drug is being developed that can hopefully block DHT better and more thoroughly than the currently available medicine.
